Material selection defines far more than colour. The base metal, surface treatment, texture, reflectivity, fabrication method and surrounding materials all influence how architectural metalwork appears in the finished space.

SECTION 01 — BASE METAL
Different metals offer different combinations of appearance, weight, fabrication flexibility, durability and surface possibilities — selection considers both the visual design and the final application.
SS304 · SS316 — walls, ceilings, screens, doors, railings
Clean appearance, fabrication flexibility and a wide range of decorative finishes. 304 for interior architectural applications; 316 where corrosion resistance or demanding environments require it. Sheet and plate in project thicknesses — laser cut, CNC processed, bent, welded, ground and polished, then finished to specification.
Feature walls, screens, entrances, decorative panels
A warmer, more distinctive architectural character for luxury hospitality, cultural and retail projects — polished, brushed, antiqued or treated. Finish expectations and protective treatment agreed at sample approval.
Large panels, suspended elements, coated finishes
Low weight with excellent forming flexibility — powder coating, PVDF, anodising, brushed, perforated, embossed and laser-cut options.
SECTION 04 — PVD COLOURS
A finish name is not a reliable colour specification on its own — one supplier's Champagne Gold may differ significantly from another's. Colour also changes with hairline vs mirror substrate, lighting temperature, viewing direction, surrounding materials and coating batch. KingDeco recommends physical sample approval for architectural projects.

SAMPLE APPROVAL
For project work, colour should be approved against a physical sample rather than selected only from a digital image. Tell us the colour family, the substrate finish and the application — a sample is produced for approval.

SECTION 05 — COMBINATIONS
Material design is rarely limited to choosing one finish. The final appearance comes from combining base material + texture + colour + fabrication detail + lighting — which is why physical sampling matters for complex metalwork.

SECTION 09 — SAMPLE APPROVAL
Digital images cannot accurately reproduce metallic reflection, texture depth, gloss, PVD colour, directional finishes or interaction with lighting. For significant architectural projects, KingDeco recommends approving physical samples before production — design reference, KingDeco sample, client and designer review, approved master sample, then mass production.

Our core architectural materials include stainless steel, brass and aluminium, together with steel structures and specialist decorative materials where required by the project.
304 and 316 are common project grades. The final grade should follow the project specification and environmental requirements.
Custom colour development may be possible depending on quantity and coating requirements. Physical sample approval is recommended.
