GLASS FIBER REINFORCED GYPSUM (GRG)

Glass Fiber Reinforced Gypsum (GFRG or GRG) is a composite of high strength alpha gypsum reinforced with glass fibers that can be factory-molded into virtually any shape or size. GRG parts are usually provided unfnished for field finished, or may be factory primed/finished depending on the specific application. Where once traditional 'plaster castings' were used, GRG is now specified because of its lightweight, superior strength and ease of shipping/installation. GRG is for interiors or sheltered areas only and has a Class A (or 1) flame-spread rating.

GRG is the bridge to shapes and curves for the drywall/plasterboard trades. With the move away from "less is more" in the late 1970's and the re-introduction of traditional architectural forms, GRG evolved as the ideal medium. The construction boom of the past decades established GRG as the means for architects and designers to achieve their design visions, while leveraging the experience of regular building trades. Today, GRG is used to achieve modern and "organic" shapes on walls and ceiling, in addition to traditional architectural shapes.

● Light weight

● Installed with systems from traditional drywall industry

● Can be joined to drywall and painted in a similar fashion on interior façade systems
